Every fact on a STUD profile cites a source. This page documents where the data comes from and when we last pulled it.

SAM.gov Entity Management API v3

The primary directory. Active US-registered entities filed under aerospace and adjacent manufacturing NAICS codes (336411–336419, 332710, 332721, 332811, 332812, 332999). Public, free, government-maintained.

Supplier claims (Tier 2)

When a supplier subscribes to Spotlight, their profile is flipped to Tier 2 (Claimed). The claim consists of: (1) explicit attestation that the claimant is authorized to represent the business, (2) a Stripe-collected email and billing address, (3) the payment itself as economic signal. Claimed status is not a compliance certification.

What we do not yet pull

  • OASIS AS9100/IA9100 certification status— coming in week 2–3 via scrape of oasis.iaqg.org.
  • CMMC SPRS scores — pulled from public SPRS when the API surface stabilizes.
  • FEOC ownership chains — partial; full traversal in v0.2 via OpenCorporates + SEC EDGAR overlay.
  • ITAR/DDTC registration — manual cross-check on profiles flagged for defense work.

What every fact looks like

Internally every datum carries: source URL, extraction confidence, timestamp, extractor version. This is shown selectively on the profile (we don't want to clutter the page), but it is queryable via the MCP server and the JSON API at /api/suppliers/[slug].

If something is wrong

Email hello@stud.com with the supplier slug and the disputed fact. We aim to respond within five business days. If you're the supplier, the fastest correction path is to claim the profile and edit it directly.
