What STUD is

STUD is a directory of US manufacturers indexed from public records (primarily SAM.gov). It is a data infrastructure platform, not a regulatory body. We cite sources for every fact we publish; we do not certify compliance, capacity, ownership, or any regulatory status.

Tiers

Profiles fall into one of four tiers:

  • Indexed — extracted from public records; not yet supplier-confirmed.
  • Claimed — the operator has paid for Spotlight and attested they represent the business.
  • Verified — supplier has provided cert documents; STUD has cross-checked.
  • Audited — third-party auditor (C3PAO, registrar) has confirmed within 18 months.

Verified and Audited tiers are not yet available in this release. Available tiers are Indexed and Claimed.

Spotlight subscription

Spotlight is $99/month, billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Subscribing flips your profile from Indexed to Claimed and surfaces your shop higher in search. It does not certify any compliance status.

No certification claim

Nothing on this site constitutes certification, qualification, or guarantee. Compliance statements (AS9100, CMMC, ITAR, FEOC, Made-in-USA, etc.) reflect the data we've indexed at the time we indexed it, with cited source. Users must verify independently before any contract, purchase order, or regulatory filing decision.

Acceptable use

  • Do not claim a profile you are not authorized to represent.
  • Do not scrape the directory or its API outside the documented MCP/HTTP interfaces.
  • Do not misrepresent compliance status on a claimed profile.

We may suspend or refund any account that violates these terms.

Liability

STUD's total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you have paid in the three months preceding any claim. STUD is provided as-is, without warranty. We do not promise the directory is complete, current, or accurate beyond the provenance we cite.

Data

We collect what is necessary to operate the service: account email, billing details (via Stripe), and the data you submit when claiming a profile. We do not sell data to third parties. We do not store classified or controlled-unclassified information (CUI).
