Use STUD with your AI

STUD works from any MCP-compatible AI app. Add one address, sign in, and your AI can read your workspace, suggest what to run, ask a play's questions, run it, and read the result back.

What you need

The address

Every app connects to the same address:

https://stud.com/mcp

Sign-in uses OAuth, so there is no key to copy or keep. When you add the address, the app sends you to STUD to sign in, then shows what it is asking to do. Each permission is one line you can leave unticked.

The connection acts as you, within what you allow, and only in the workspace you choose (one, or all of them). Disconnect it any time from Account, Connected apps.

What you approve

The permissions an app can ask for, in the words you see on the approval screen:

Read your workspace and credit balance
Your facts, notes, runs and playbooks, and the plays on offer.
Save and edit your workspace
Facts and notes your AI saves for you. A value a run produced is never overwritten from an app: a change to it waits as a suggestion you keep or decline on STUD.com.
Run plays and read their output
Start a run and read its result.
Spend and buy credits
Pay for runs from your balance, up to the daily credit cap you set on the same screen, and open a Checkout link when you want more. Buying always finishes in your own browser.
Share runs by public link
Starts unticked. Tick it only if you want your AI to make share links.

Your first conversation

Say what you want done, or ask what to run. On a new workspace your AI says in a line what STUD does, then asks three short questions one at a time: what you do, who it is for, and what stage you are at. Each answer is saved to your workspace on your yes, and after the first answers it suggests a play, with the reason.

Before any run it names the play and its cost in credits and waits for your yes. The credits are taken when the run starts.

Some plays STUD computes itself, and the result comes back checked. For the rest, your AI writes the output to STUD's brief and STUD checks it. A failed check is not refunded: it comes back with the checks that failed and a hint, and your AI revises and submits again, up to 5 checked submissions within 7 days. Credits return only if STUD is at fault.

Your AI answers questions about your work from your STUD workspace and what you tell it, never from files it happens to have open.

Other apps

Any app that accepts a remote MCP server address and signs in with OAuth connects the same way: add the address above, sign in, approve. Support for apps that take only a static key, such as Grok Bots, is coming.
